Privacy Policy

Our Approach

Radiant Camera is built privacy-first. Your photos and videos stay on your iPhone. We do not run advertising, behavioural analytics, or third-party trackers. The only data that ever leaves your device is what we genuinely need to deliver a feature you used, and we keep that to a minimum.

What Stays on Your Device

  • Photos and videos: saved to your Photo Library in the "Radiant Camera" album. We never copy or upload them.
  • R-Negative data: original RAW data and recipes used for re-editing.
  • Recipes, presets, and imported LUTs: your saved looks and Custom Emulations.
  • Settings: all preferences and slider positions.
  • Diagnostics: performance and crash information collected by iOS to help us improve the App. This stays on your device.

What Leaves Your Device

A handful of features need to talk to a server. Whenever they do, the App sends only what is required for that feature, and never your photos, videos, name, email, Apple ID, or location.

Subscriptions

Radiant Pro is sold through the Apple App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card details. To validate your subscription and unlock Pro features, we exchange your subscription receipt with a subscription-management service. They receive only the receipt and an anonymous account identifier the App generates for you on first launch.

Free Trial

When you start the free trial of Radiant Pro, the App contacts our service to issue a one-time grant tied to that anonymous identifier. Nothing else is sent.

Emulation & Recipe Catalog

The App downloads the catalog of cloud-distributed Emulations and community Recipes (and their thumbnails) from our content delivery service. These are anonymous read-only requests, and no account information is sent.

Cloud Sync (Pro)

With an active Radiant Pro subscription, the App syncs your Recipes and your favorited Emulation tags through your personal iCloud account so they follow you across iPhones signed into the same Apple ID. Custom Emulations and your photos and videos are never synced. The data is stored in your private iCloud container; we do not have access to it.

Photo Submission (Opt-In)

If you choose to submit a photo to the public Radiant gallery (for example, to feature your shot alongside an Emulation), the App uploads the image you selected and the credit name you typed. This is always explicit. Nothing is uploaded automatically. You can email us at any time to have a submission removed.

Voting (Opt-In)

When you upvote or downvote an Emulation or Recipe, we record the vote and any feedback you typed. This helps us decide which content to feature.

Your Anonymous Identifier

The App generates a random, anonymous account identifier on first launch and stores it securely on your device. It is not your name, email, Apple ID, phone number, or device serial, and we have no way to connect it to who you are. It exists so your subscription, trial, and synced settings can follow you across reinstalls of the App.

Permissions

  • Camera: to capture photos and video. Frames are processed on your iPhone and never transmitted.
  • Microphone: only when recording video with audio. Audio is encoded into the video file on device.
  • Photo Library: to save captures to the "Radiant Camera" album and show them in the in-app gallery and Darkroom.

You can revoke any of these in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security at any time.

Children's Privacy

Radiant Camera is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Our anonymous identifier is not linked to any identifying information.

Your Choices

  • Revoke Camera, Microphone, or Photo Library permissions in iOS Settings.
  • Disable iCloud for Radiant Camera in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud to stop Cloud Sync from running.
  • Email us to delete data tied to your anonymous identifier or to remove a submitted photo.

What We Do Not Do

  • No advertising or ad tracking.
  • No behavioural analytics or tracking SDKs.
  • No selling or sharing of personal information.
  • No social-login providers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
