Need Help?

We're here to help you get the most out of Radiant Camera. Below you'll find answers to common questions and ways to reach us.

Common Issues

Camera not working

Make sure Camera access is granted. Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and turn Radiant Camera on. The App requires a physical iPhone and will not work in the iOS Simulator.

Photos not saving

Photo Library access is required to save captures. Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos, select Radiant Camera, and set it to Full Access. Photos are saved to the "Radiant Camera" album.

Microphone for video

If you want audio in your videos, grant Microphone access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. You can also turn audio off in the App's video settings if you prefer silent recordings.

R-HEIF capture not available

R-HEIF uses Apple's ProRAW pipeline, which requires a Pro iPhone (iPhone 12 Pro or later). On non-Pro models the App automatically uses A-HEIF, which gives you the same film effects in lighter files. If you're on a Pro iPhone and don't see R-HEIF, double-check that you've selected it in the format picker on the capture screen.

App feels slow or warm

Radiant Camera does a lot of real-time image processing. If you notice slowdown:

  • Close other apps running in the background
  • Make sure your iPhone has free storage
  • Switch off Low Power Mode (it throttles processing)
  • If your iPhone gets warm, the App will show a thermal banner and ease off automatically. Give it a moment to cool
  • Restart the App if the viewfinder freezes

R-Native looks darker or brighter than the viewfinder

This is expected. R-Native is developed from the Bayer RAW sensor data directly, while the viewfinder uses Apple's composited preview pipeline, so the two won't match exactly. If you'd like them closer, calibrate the baseline in Settings → Capture Calibration → R-Native Base EV until R-Native matches your taste.

R-HEIF looks darker or brighter than the viewfinder

This usually happens when auto focus and auto exposure haven't locked yet at the moment of capture. Tap the viewfinder on your subject first to lock focus and exposure, then take the shot, and the result should match what you saw. If the offset persists, fine-tune it in Settings → Capture Calibration → R-HEIF → Exposure (R-HEIF Base EV).

Subscriptions & Trial

Starting your free trial

New users are offered a one-time free trial of Radiant Pro on first launch. The trial does not auto-convert to a paid subscription unless you explicitly subscribe.

Trial says it's already used

The trial is granted once per Apple ID on this device. If it shows as used after a reinstall, that's expected. To unlock Pro features, subscribe through the App.

Restoring purchases

If you previously subscribed and don't see Pro features after reinstalling or switching devices, open Settings in the App and tap Restore Purchases.

Managing or cancelling your subscription

All subscription changes are handled by Apple. Open iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Radiant Camera, and you can change tier, cancel, or view renewal dates from there.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled directly by Apple under their App Store refund policy. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select your Radiant Camera purchase.

Cloud Sync & Restore

What Cloud Sync covers

Cloud Sync keeps your Recipes and your favorited Emulation tags in iCloud across iPhones signed into the same Apple ID. Custom Emulations themselves are not synced to iCloud. Only the favorite tags on built-in emulations are. If you want your imported LUTs on another device, re-import the .cube file there.

My recipes or favorites didn't sync

Cloud Sync is a Pro feature. Make sure your subscription or trial is active, that you're signed into the same Apple ID on both iPhones, and that you have an internet connection. Sync runs in the background, so give it a minute after enabling.

Recipes & Custom Emulations

Recipe Hub

Recipe Hub is the easiest way to discover and share looks. Open the Recipe Manager and tap the Recipe Hub banner at the top to browse community recipes you can download with one tap, or publish your own for others to try.

Sharing a Recipe via QR code

Open any saved Recipe and tap the QR icon to generate a code. Anyone with Radiant Camera can scan it from inside the App to import your look instantly. No account needed.

Importing your own LUTs

Custom Emulations is a Pro feature. Tap the import option in the emulation picker and choose any .cube file from the Files app. You can then attach grain, halation, and tone curves to make it your own.

R-Negative Darkroom

Every photo is saved as an R-Negative (the original RAW data plus the recipe used to develop it) so you can re-edit any shot later. Manage R-Negative storage in Settings → R-Negative Storage Manager, where you can view usage and clean up data for photos you've deleted from your Library.

Storage & Data

Where R-Negative RAW files live

When you shoot in R-Negative, the original RAW sensor data is stored inside the App's container, not in your Photo Library, so the App can re-develop the shot later. These files stay on your device until you remove them, either by deleting the photo from Radiant Gallery or by clearing entries in Settings → R-Negative Storage. Deleting the JPEG/HEIF from the iOS Photos app alone does not free the underlying R-Negative data.

Reclaiming space

If your iPhone is low on storage, open Settings → R-Negative Storage in the App to see how much space R-Negatives are using and remove the ones you no longer need to re-edit.
